When did you start CrossFit?

Why did you get into fitness and CrossFit?

At age 48, I was looking for a way to stay healthy and fit well into my later years.  I never cared for going to a “regular” gym because I never had a plan to follow, and I didn’t know if the equipment I needed was going to be available.  I prefer workouts that are fun and social instead of sitting in a gym watching others flex in the mirror with their headphones on! 

I was hooked on CrossFit after the first class.  The coach explained and demonstrated all of the movements and the purpose of the workout.  Every day brings new and challenging workouts.  All of the movements, from classic weightlifting to Olympic lifting and gymnastics, are taught and supervised by highly qualified coaches.  

I love the class atmosphere and the positivity of the community and the friends I have made at Hybrid Farm.  It’s great to celebrate a completed goal or personal achievement with others.  

Why did you become a coach?

Almost two years after joining Hybrid Farm, I decided that I wanted to help others meet their goals in the gym–weight loss, fitness, strength–any reason that drives members to become healthier.  I love watching someone work hard to achieve the goals that are important to them, and the “light bulb” moment when someone learns a new movement or skill.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Cleans and muscle-ups.

What’s your favorite cheat meal?

Meat-lovers’ pizza.

How do you like to spend your time when you’re not at the gym?

I like to hunt, fish, and travel.
